Holy wow! It’s hard to believe that nearly a whole year has passed since my very first Book Blogger Love-A-Thon. I was blown away by the amount of participation and excitement surrounding the Love-A-Thon last year; you guys all rocked my socks off!!! I had so much fun hosting it and it was awesome to see bloggers and authors coming together to share their love for book bloggers! This year, in an attempt to make the Love-A-Thon loads more fun, we will have bigger giveaways, lots of fun mini challenges, and an absolutely awesome and equally awkward book blogger, Miss Alexa from Alexa Loves Books as a co-host (seriously people, she is full of awesome and I am thrilled to have her on board this year)!!!
In case you’re staring at your computer screen with a dumbfounded expression on your face wondering what the heck a Love-A-Thon is, please allow me to explain:
The Who’s:
Who is hosting the Love-A-Thon? The Love-A-Thon is hosted by Kate (me) from Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands & Alexa (my awkward twin) from Alexa Loves Books.
Who can participate in the Love-A-Thon? Authors and bloggers are both welcome to sign up! However, we do ask that if you’re an author, to please have a blog or similar forum to post the mini challenges on!
The What’s:
What is a Book Blogger Love-A-Thon? A Book Blogger Love-A-Thon is a day dedicated to giving love to some of your very favorite book blogs! Throughout the day you will be commenting on blogs, following blogs, tweeting about blogs, thanking blogs, sharing the word about your old and new favorite blogs, telling another blogger how freaking awesome you think they are, the list goes on and on! And just to make this day a little more fun, it will also consist of fun posts, an interview swap with a fellow participant, mini challenges, and perhaps a giveaway or two! Alexa and I are still hammering out the final details for the schedule, but an easy-to-follow schedule of events will be sent out to participants a week in advance.
What do I need to do in order to sign up? Signing up is easy! Alexa and I ask that you fill out the form in its entirety and also grab the event button to add to your blog. Sharing news and blogging about the Love-A-Thon in advance is not required but it would be greatly appreciated! The more people who hear about the event, then the more people we get to participate. And you know, if we have more people participate, then it will be even more fun!
The When’s:
When does the event take place? The 2nd Annual Book Blogger Love-A-Thon is set to take off at 12:00 a.m. EST on February 23rd and ends at 12:00 a.m. on February 24th. Please keep in mind that even though the Love-A-thon is a 24 hour event and we would love for you to be able to participate throughout the duration of it, we also understand that life does get in the way so if you are only able to participate for a short amount of time, that is fine!
When do I sign up for the event? Participants can join the Love-A-Thon at ANY time. However, the sooner you sign up, the better. Not only does it allow us to get a better feel for how many people will be joining us, but it will also mean that you will get the schedule in advance as well as the person you will be having your interview swap with!
The Randoms:
ATTENTION AUTHORS & BLOGGERS: We want to make the giveaways for the Love-A-Thon as awesome as possible! If you are able to donate anything at all (anything from bookmarks, to books, to gift cards) please let me know by emailing me at katelynsblog@aol.com by February 14th!
