Tune In Tuesday is a weekly feature in which bloggers get to showcase another one of their loves, music! This feature was originally created by Ginger over at GReads! but you can now find it here at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands. If you would like to participate in this weekly feature, make a blog post showcasing a song (or a few!) and link up at the bottom of this post by clicking the cute blue guy! While you’re here make sure to check out all the other awesome blogs that have decided to participate!
I have a fun band to share with you guys today! I know I have talked about them on the blog before but never for Tune In Tuesday and since this week is stressful already (yes, I am aware that it is only Tuesday *sigh*) and their music is an instant stress-reliever for me, I figured why the heck not!
South Jordan is a band I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting at a concert last summer. My best friend, Kati, was just getting ready to go and study abroad so we figured one last concert before she left for the summer would be an awesome idea. The set list was Deas Vail (a band I like but I sometimes have to be in a certain mood for), Windsor Drive (LOVE THEM!), South Jordan (today’s band!), and He Is We (Rachel was not able to make it to this concert which sucked BUT the girl who filled in for her did a great job). As much as I enjoyed the performances by Deas Vail, Windsor Drive, & He Is We, it was South Jordan that really put on the show of the night.
Kati and I were the only two dancing around like buffoons (embarrassingly enough, the guys noticed this during their set and commented on our dancing skills, which are awesome, afterwards) but we didn’t care, South Jordan was just that good. They had fun with the crowd, they played a Justin Bieber cover which may make some of you cringe but was in fact made of awesome, and their original songs were incredibly catchy, not to mention they were all dressed super nice and the lead singer happens to remind me a bit of Justin Timberlake (in the best way possible). I picked out a few songs to share with you guys today but YouTube was really lacking on good videos for this band so if you feel like you need to hear more by them, I’ve also included my Spotify playlist of their music. Take a listen and of course if you have a tune to share this week, link up below!
Hush Hush by South Jordan
His voice + the lyrics = a drooling Katelyn
Firefly by South Jordan
There is something so sad and heartbreaking about this song but I just can’t help but love it.
Fool For You by South Jordan
This first few lines get me every single time! This is one of my favorites by them just because of how fun it is!
A Special Announcement:
I haven’t been able to put a button together for it yet (it will be ready by next Tuesday), but I just wanted to let you guys know about the theme for Tune In Tuesday during the month of April so you can start planning your posts. The theme for April is:
*drum-roll please*
ROAD TRIP EDITION!
Spring time always reminds me of Spring Break and Spring Break always reminds me of road trips. With that being said, I figured we could share our favorite road trip songs/playlists for the whole month of April. Whether it is an actual song/playlist you have listened to while on a road trip or if it is your dream road trip song/playlist, be sure to share them on Tuesdays for the month of April! Please remember that this is by no means required but it will be loads of fun, I promise! The month of May will be a “normal” month for Tune In Tuesday!
p.s. If you have any suggestions for future editions for Tune In Tuesday, please be sure to email me at katelynsblog@aol.com! I would love to hear what you have come up with!
