IMM is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. It is a way for book bloggers to post what they have received for review, borrowed from a friend, bought at the bookstore, or picked up at the library. I have been 1) extremely lazy….err, I mean BUSY and 2) my mailbox has been overflowing with awesomeness so this week’s IMM is actually 3 weeks in one which means LOTS OF BOOKS! Also, I am kind of changing the way I do my IMM posts to make them a bit easier to read. I hope it helps!

Won:

The amazing girls over at Mint Tea and A Good Book (an AWESOME blog to go check out if you haven’t already) had a sister themed giveaway and I was so psyched to find out that I won! Thank you ladies for allowing me to add these wonderful books to my home library! For the giveaway I won:

Ten Rules for Living with my Sister by Ann M. Martin

My Thoughts: This book sounds absolutely delightful! My older sister was out of the house when I was growing up so I am used to being the one in charge. I am so excited to read about a younger sibling!

Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks by Lauren Myracle

My Thoughts: I am so thrilled this was one of the books that I won! I can already to relate to the main character and I haven’t even begun reading the actual story yet!

Sass & Serendipity by Jennifer Ziegler (signed)

My Thoughts: This sounds like the cutest book ever! Watching two sisters deal with their emotions regarding two different guys is going to be awesome!

Next is a HUGE, AWESOME, EXTRAORDINARY pile of books that I won from Bailey at IB Book Blogging! She had this awesome blogoversary giveaway that puts all other blogoversary giveaways (including my own!) to shame! She sent over 10 ARC’s and some awesome swag! Thank you so much Bailey!

My Thoughts: I know I already have this book once but hey, I am excited about this still! A war against high school guys and girls sounds amazing!

Family by Micol Ostow

My Thoughts: My gosh this book sounds amazing! I don’t usually go for books that are dark and creepy like this but I am SO EXCITED to read it!

Reasons to Be Happy by Katrina Kittle

My Thoughts: This sounds like the greatest mix of sad and happy. The summary shows how this book covers tougher issues but then on the back of the book there is a quirky little list of “Reasons to Be Happy” and you can tell it is going to have it’s lighter moments too!

Going Underground by Susan Vaught

My Thoughts: I am POSITIVE that this is the best giveaway I have ever won. This book sounds amazing too! I love that it deals with texting explicit pictures. That is such a big issue in society today so I can’t wait to see how it is portrayed in this book!

The rest of these “bought” books were from my latest trip to Borders (yesterday). I got a ton of books at 50% off. While I still am extremely sad my favorite store will be closing, I loved all the good sales!

IMM is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. It is a way for book bloggers to post what they have received for review, borrowed from a friend, bought at the bookstore, or picked up at the library. This week I have so much to be thankful for. Honestly all of the books that I received this week come from some pretty amazing bloggers and authors. Here is my wonderful IMM!

~Don’t forget to click the book title so you can add it to your TBR list on Goodreads!~

Gifted/Won:

Shut Out by Kody Keplinger

Summary: A contemporary reimagining of the Greek play, “Lysistrata,” in which high school senior Lissa decides it’s time to end her school’s ridiculous sports rivalry once and for all by starting a hook-up strike.

My Thoughts: I have not read Kody’s other book The DUFF yet but I have heard so many wonderful things about it so I am uber excited to pick up this book. It sounds great!

Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

Summary: It could happen tomorrow…

A cataclysmic event. An army of “The Changed.”
Can one teen really survive on her own?

An electromagnetic pulse sweeps through the sky, destroying every electronic device and killing billions. For those spared, it’s a question of who can be trusted and who is no longer human…

Desperate to find out what happened and to avoid the Changed, Alex meets up with Tom—a young army veteran—and Ellie, a young girl whose grandfather was killed by the electromagnetic pulse.

This improvised family will have to use every ounce of courage they have just to survive.

My Thoughts: I have not heard much about this book at all but I am so freaking excited to try it out!

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (Signed)

Summary: Last year, Annabel was “the girl who has everything”—at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf’s Department Store. This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong. Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.

My Thoughts: Holy smokes I love this book!

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen (Signed)

Summary: When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn’t mess around. After all, she’s learned all there is to know from her mother, who’s currently working on husband number five. But there’s something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy’s rules. He certainly doesn’t seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can’t seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy’s starting to understand what those love songs are all about?

My Thoughts: Holy smokes I love this book too!

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen (Signed)

Summary: Sixteen-year-old Macy Queen is looking forward to a long, boring summer. Her boyfriend is going away. She’s stuck with a dull-as-dishwater job at the library. And she’ll spend all of her free time studying for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father’s recent unexpected death. But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping out at one of her mother’s open house events, and she meets the chaotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy joins the Wish team. She loves everything about the work and the people. But the best thing about Wish is Wes—artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes—who gets Macy to look at life in a whole new way, and really start living it.

My Thoughts: Could it be? Another book that I love? Why yes, I do believe it its!

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen (Signed)

Summary: Who is the real McLean?

Since her parents’ bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother’s new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.

Combing Sarah Dessen’s trademark graceful writing, great characters, and compelling storytelling, What Happened to Goodbye is irresistible reading.

My Thoughts: I haven’t read this book but I can already tell you right now that I will adore it to pieces!

~A HUGE THANK YOU GOES OUT TO Cari’s Book Blog!!! Thank you so much for taking my precious Sarah Dessen books in for a few weeks while you got them signed. It is honestly so freaking awesome of you to do! Plus throwing Ashes and Shut Out into the mix just made my whole month spectacular! ~

Sharks & Boys by Kristen Tracy

Summary: When 15-year-old Enid Calhoun follows her boyfriend Wick to Maryland for a party, fearful that he might be intending to cheat on her, she finds herself sneaking on board a houseboat where Wick and his friends plan to have a wild night. But before the boys discover their stowaway, a hurricane strikes, and the teenagers are carried miles from the shore and shipwrecked. What follows is a harrowing, yet heartwarming, story of survival, as the teens battle hypothermia, dehydration, man-eating sharks–and along the way, confront their own deepest secrets, including their catalytic roles in the disaster.

My Thoughts: I am actually pretty excited to read this because it seems like a light easy read. Hopefully I like it!

~As if I really needed another reason to adore Ashley @ Books from Bleh to Basically Amazing. THANK YOU so much for sending me this book, the super cute letter, and the lovely marker, which I will now use daily!~

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

Summary: Gwyneth Shepherd’s sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era! Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon, the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.

My Thoughts: First off the book is gorgeous! The cover is so full of redness and it is awesome! Secondly, I am always searching for a good time traveling book and I have a feeling this one just might do the trick!

Forgiven by Janet Fox (Signed)

Summary: Kula Baker never expected to find herself on the streets of San Francisco, alone but for a letter of introduction. Though she has come to the city to save her father from a cruel fate, Kula soon finds herself swept up in a world of art and elegance – a world she hardly dared dream of back in Montana, where she was no more than the daughter of an outlaw. And then there is the handsome David Wong, whose smiling eyes and soft-spoken manner have an uncanny way of breaking through Kula’s carefully crafted reserve. Yet when disaster strikes and the wreckage threatens all she holds dear, Kula realizes that only by unlocking her heart can she begin to carve a new future for herself.

My Thoughts: I LOVE Faithful by Janet Fox so I have been dying to pick up its companion novel, Forgiven. Janet’s writing is very beautiful and detailed so I know reading of Kula’s story is going to be an adventure!

~Thank you so much both Gabrielle @ The Mod Podge Bookshelf and Janet Fox for the AWESOME feature you hosted on Gabrielle’s blog. Not only did you guys give out free, great prizes but you helped to raise awareness for missing and exploited children. It is truly a beautiful thing you guys did! ~
